The role of non-verbal communication in recruitment interviews

Mahmoud Nouri Shamsabad * We humans should always communicate with others due to their sociality and the need for friendship at all levels of their lives, but the type and level of communication we establish will vary depending on the situation and the situation in which we are, sometimes We are the manager of an organization and we are in contact with our employees from the position of power that is due to the legal and organizational responsibility and sometimes also in a recruitment interview and we try to make our communication in a way that, along with the technical capabilities, persuades the interviewer. That's the right person for that job. Effective verbal communication in all relationships is essential. The verbal communication, whether in professional, personal or group communication, correctly addresses the concept. Many relationships fail due to lack of verbal communication. The role of verbal communication is to validate non-verbal communication and effectively express the purpose and purpose of helping out words. In verbal communication, an active conversation is involved in the use of vocabulary. In fact, verbal conversation occurs simultaneously with non-verbal movements. Non-verbal communication includes non-linguistic triggers in a communication environment that is generated both by the source (the speaker) and the peripheral use of the speaker, and that which has a potential message value for the source or receiver (the listener). Basically, this involves sending and receiving messages by ways that are not verbal (words).

The role and importance of non-verbal communication:

Basically nonverbal communication is one of the key aspects of communication (and especially important in strong cultures.) This has different functions:

• Used to repeat the oral message.

• It is often used to emphasize spoken messages (for example, the vocabulary plays the key meaning of the vocabulary).

• Often used to complete the speech message, but it also contains contradictions.

• Setting up two-way communication (non-verbal tips can determine if a second person can speak.)

• May replace the verbal message (especially when speaking of other factors such as noise can not be discussed). For example, expressing movements (swirling fingers to the lips to invite silence), or facial expressions (eg shaking heads The answer is yes.)

It is estimated that non-verbal communication is approximately 60 to 90 percent of the meaning of social relationships, and it is important to note that such a relationship in a specific social context may change and vary according to the situation. Nonverbal symptoms are very important because they themselves and others around you, for example, if they start talking during a session, indicate that they are not listening to you and that your content is either tedious or appealing They do not need them.

Another point is that you must be aware of different cultures when using non-verbal signs. Research has also shown that men and women have different non-verbal relationships, including:

- More women have the capacity to create facial expressions that their viewers understand correctly, a better understanding of women for judging and sensitizing others' feelings and aspirations, and the ability to respond to nonverbal relationships. In other types of social situations, such as interviews, this kind of relationship Non-verbal can affect the image of men and women and their ability to influence and influence. These differences can affect impact management techniques and rankings of interviewers and their success or failure. Preliminary findings suggest that women are in a higher position in ranking and have been more successful in non-verbal interviews and interviews. Interview is one of the most popular steps in employee selection process. Organizations are recruiting new employees, as well as future employees, and should show themselves in a good shape. While some studies have shown that interviews may be discredited in determining the applicant's qualifications and their future performance in their jobs, interviews are still the most widely used tools. This is due to the fact that managers want to find the relevant staff before the final decision.

Impact management: In interviewing interviews, the role of impact management technique on the interview process is considered to be essential, and this is because impact management is obviously dependent on how people create a positive or negative perspective. A social situation like an interview has a particular dependence on the field of management, since the interviewer is usually under great pressure to get a positive image of himself or herself. Additionally, impacts management is tied with conscious or unconscious behavior and the use of both oral and non-oral techniques. It's important to note that managing impacts is essentially personal and may happen, whether it is aware or not. Most people were socialized to automatically encrypt or decode people's states and be trained to understand the effects of others without understanding the meaning of each action. Hence, management has an impact, even if it is not intentional. Due to the influence of non verbal communication in a communication process, most scholars have studied the relationship between nonverbal communication and the applicant's position in the interview and conducted research in this regard. One of the early studies on this subject suggests that interviewers focus on assessing applicants in areas of social skills based on non-verbal communication. In addition, non-verbal indications are often used when information about a person is valuable or for some reason he believes this information will not be clearly disclosed in verbal and non-verbal communication. Such social situations include: first appointment, court trial, and recruitment interview.

Different people may use certain non-verbal behaviors to influence, for example a solid and solid stand-up, an energetic look, hands-on legs, lowered eyebrows, and a glance at their eyes, all in a non-verbal way of life and domination. Take part. Those who want to be accepted are interested in pointing out to others who pay attention to it and who like it through the expression of non-verbal expressions and mindsets. Individuals who recognize the proper behavior in a social position and are able to modify and adapt their behavior are often introduced as individuals with high self-awareness. Individuals with high self-awareness capabilities tend to attract more interviewing people than people with low self-awareness because they respond to verbal and non-verbal communication and, in particular, the skills that a person shows in the impact of interview time can be very useful. Detecting the impact of others allows a person to better understand and react to others' situations. The recruitment interview is an example of such a situation.

The interview is clear and leads to a definite result: hiring or not employing a person. In such an important position, we may evaluate the type of factors and their impact, and then make the final decision.

Some non-verbal indications have the rule of red flag 1 being negotiated. Experts suggest that special attention be paid to the hands and faces of the person. "Many of the physical symptoms reveal hidden thoughts," said Donald Moyne, an organization's psychologist at the Rowling Hills Human Development Association. "Hair stroke, biting lips, blinking, swallowing, and throat straightening are examples of this. they are going. Moyn believes that the spontaneous breaths of the opponent during the talks indicate his inaccuracy. During training, Moine finds it harder to negotiate leaders, many of whom lose the opportunity to read the language of the other party's body. "They often dropped their heads and looked at their papers, while they were supposed to watch the opponent." Even the most experienced traders who know how to cover their own scenarios because they may betray their bodies. Raymond McGraim, author of Silent Blessing 2, says, "Look for signs of deception. Trying to deceive can be obtained through signs such as mouth-wrapping, scratching your nose, swinging your hands to the sides, and leaning against the chair in order to get away from you. If these symptoms occur when a person is talking about an important point in the negotiation, their significance becomes even greater. "McGraim says, although these behaviors may be due to nervous tics, they can also be lying. Now, let's take a look at a case study in line with the content presented above to see if the role of effective use of non-verbal communication will be.

Case study The role and importance of non-verbal communication in the interview:

In the following example, which analyzes the interviewing process of the two applicants for employment in the bank, firstly, with the help of prejudices, on paper and according to the basic information, the first person is twice as likely to study in higher education as the related field of banking science The second person who has lower education and a less affiliated discipline has a chance to accept. But the interviewing steps and points from the viewpoint of the expert interviewed resulted in a different conclusion that we briefly discuss in Table (1):

Well, I think you, like a servant, found that the wier of the interview was a second person, but what was the cause?

Undoubtedly, the second person was well versed in communications, also non-verbal, because he used the best responses at the right time and place, so that as from the 30th minute, the interviewer's enthusiasm was so much that the interviewer was attracted and the interview changed in form The situation.

From the foregoing, one can conclude that communication is tangible science and beauty that knowledge of it increases the percentage of success in life and work, and those who have information in this regard look at everything else because they look different and more distinct. Is.
